I am a designer currently residing and working in Italy. Having spent over fifteen years living away from my beloved homeland, Vietnam, the opportunity to adorn the traditional Vietnamese dress, the Ao Dai, in the continent of Europe has been an esteemed experience for me. The Ao Dai is my choice of attire for momentous occasions such as weddings, Lunar New Year, and during Tet celebrations within the Vietnamese community in Italy, as it enables me to express my cultural identity and roots with great pride.
To me, the Ao Dai is more than just an ensemble, it represents the solemnity and rich history of Vietnam and its cultural heritage. It exudes an aura of grace and elegance that brings forth a sense of confidence and beauty. Additionally, it serves as a poignant reminder to uphold and honor the timeless values of Vietnam's traditions, which I take great pride in showcasing to my Italian friends. The ability to share and propagate the beauty of Vietnamese culture with my international peers is an honor that I value deeply.
