Mrs. Nguyen Thi Viet Ha

Ao Dai and I.

Ao Dai is one of the most iconic symbols of Vietnam, and to me, it represents the beauty of simplicity, elegance, and sophistication. It's also a symbol of equality, as anyone, regardless of age, gender, religion, education, or income, can wear it. From everyday occasions like going to school or work, to special events and international competitions, the Ao Dai is a popular choice. Everywhere you see it, you can feel the spirit of Vietnam and its people!

For me, the Ao Dai is tied to important milestones in my life. Even though I live and work in France, I proudly wore the Ao Dai for my master's and doctoral thesis defense. And on my wedding day and marriage registration in France, I was thrilled to don the beautiful Ao Dai. Even when celebrating my law degree in Paris, I confidently swapped my lawyer's robe for the Ao Dai because it not only looks beautiful but also represents my roots.

No matter where I go or what nationality I hold, I am always Vietnamese and proud of it. My family also shares this pride, as we share photos of ourselves wearing Ao Dai at events both at home and abroad. I hope to see the Ao Dai spread around the world, as it signifies the Vietnamese people's hard work, love of life, and overflowing love.

Love you so much Vietnam, and love Ao Dai!
